Welcome to the website of the MultiDark Galaxies Workshop. Here you will find all the information related to the meeting and the venue.
The goal of the MultiDark Galaxies Workshop is to make progress on the MultiDark-Galaxies Project. The main initial motivation for setting up this project has been the interpretation of the galaxy clustering science of the Extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS), going beyond the halo abundance matching approach adopted for BOSS Luminous Red Galaxies (LRGs) where the suite of MultiDark simulations has been used. Emission Line Galaxies (ELGs) in eBOSS, and future surveys such DESI, 4MOST and Euclid, demand going to semi-analytical modelling (SAM) to connect halos to galaxies.
The MultiDark-Galaxies Project involves the building up of galaxy catalogues using different SAMs on the MultiDark Planck MDPL 1Gpc/h simulation.
We expect to bring together leading researchers in semi-analytical models of galaxy formation and clustering to present their works and progress done based on the different MultiDark Galaxy SAM catalogues, and to focus on future projects involving not only clustering science but other aspects of galaxy formation and evolution.
